Our method · for plastic surgeons
How we make previews realistic.
Every Procedure Studio preview is built on the Diamond Triangle method: a simple proportion map we traced on hundreds of surgeons' before-and-after photos, so the AI works from how real bodies changed after real breast surgery. It's why you can put a preview in front of a patient with confidence in how it was made.
Conceptual diagram. Not to scale.
The Diamond Triangle
Five lines that describe a torso.
Four reference points: the base of the neck, each side of the chest, and the navel. Five lines connect them: two down from the neck, one straight across the chest, and two up from the navel. Together they form a diamond.
That shape is easy to find on almost any front-facing photo, and it changes in telling ways after breast surgery. It gives us a common language for comparing very different bodies, the same way you already read proportions in a consult.
From surgical photos to your patient's preview
- 1
Start with real surgical photos
We began with surgeons' before-and-after photos: real bodies, photographed before surgery and again after.
- 2
Trace the same diamond on each
On every photo we marked the same simple map: from the base of the neck to each side of the chest, straight across between them, and from the navel up to each side.
- 3
Repeat across hundreds of images
We mapped hundreds of before-and-after images, across different breast procedures: augmentation, lift and reduction.
- 4
Build a baseline
Comparing each before with its after shows how the diamond tends to change with each kind of procedure. That becomes the AI's frame of reference.
- 5
Scale it to each patient
When you take a patient's photo in the consult, the AI uses that baseline to size the change to their own proportions, so the preview fits their body instead of a template.
What it means for your consults.
Grounded in real outcomes
Built from surgeons' before-and-after photos, not idealised renders or stock bodies.
Proportions, not guesswork
The same five lines on every body give a consistent frame of reference from one photo to the next.
Scaled to each patient
Changes are sized to the patient's own frame, so the preview still looks like them.
Honest by design
Why simplified is a strength.
The Diamond Triangle is a deliberately simple model of the body. A few reliable reference points can be found consistently on almost any photo, which keeps previews stable and in proportion instead of drifting into something that doesn't look like your patient.
Simple also means honest about its limits. It doesn't capture tissue, skin elasticity, healing or surgical technique, and it can't predict exactly how a patient's body will respond. That makes it easy to explain honestly: a preview is a realistic visual guide for the consult conversation, not a medical assessment or a forecast of an individual result. Your examination and judgement stay in charge.
Previews support, and never replace, the surgeon's examination and advice.
